2015 Web Conference at Penn State

Dates: June 22-24, 2015
Location: The Penn Stater Conference Center in University Park, Pennsylvania

Super psyched to announce that I’ll be presenting a session titled: “How To Take The Crazy Out Of Your Company’s Process Workflows” at this year’s Web Conference! (I’ll also be trying not to act like a crazy fan girl while Tim Gunn gives his keynote.)

My session will cover some interdepartmental workflow methods we’ve tried in the past that weren’t successful, the take aways we learned from them, and the tools and processes that we’ve had success with over time.

2014 Web Conference at Penn State

Dates: June 9-10, 2014
Location: The Penn Stater Conference Center

As UX and design professionals, having a quality set of tools we can rely on to get our projects done on schedule is key. This session will examine a set of tools I adore, that have greatly improved my productivity over the past few years. These tools will be helpful for both in-house and freelance designers. They will be categorized into groups that focus on: Usability Testing and User Research, Mobile Usability Testing, Accessibility Testing, Interdepartmental Collaboration, Tools for Tracking Site Analytics and some miscellaneous tools that are just extremely useful to have in your toolbox. By the end of the session attendees will hopefully have some new tools to play with that will make their lives easier, and will free up some time in their daily schedules!

Guest Lecturer: Millersville University

Dates: February 26, 2013
Location: Millersville University

I was given the opportunity to present a guest lecture to a class of design students at Millersville University which centered around how I entered the UX industry, what it’s like working in an in-house design team at a software company and which tools I can’t live without. I had a blast, and the students had some really excellent questions!

2013 Web Conference at Penn State

Dates: June 6-7, 2013
Location: The Penn Stater Conference Center in University Park, Pennsylvania

I had the opportunity to speak at the Web 2013 Conference at Penn State this year. The conference theme was UX: The User Experience and I shared my experiences with Pareto Principle based usability research. Karen McGrane, author of Mobile Content Strategy, delivered one of the keynote addresses. I had the opportunity to hear her speak at last year’s IA Summit as well and I was completely blown away both times!
